Starting in 2023, we are opening our shop in the non-retail hours to host you during our Sewing Studio Hours.

Come set up on our sturdy tables, use our gigantic cutting mats, and sew along with us!

Focus: From January - June, we will be working on the Great Plains Star Quilt Block of the Month, hosted by Plains and Pine.  Register and purchase the pattern HERE (pattern not included in Sewing Studio Hours Registration).

Kendra is making a scrappy version and welcomes you to join her.  You'll even have access to the Piece Fabric Co. scrap bin to help make your version really scrappy (for a very fair price for the small bits of fabric).

You don't have to participate in the focus - you can just bring your own project and sew among friends.

Who: You and your sewing friends!

What: A time to get away from the disruption of regular life and be surrounded by fabric to sew and friends to meet. Each month will have a special focus that we will be helping you with, but if you're not interested in the focus that month, just bring the project you'd like to work on and come and sew! Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Where: Piece Fabric Co. 10029 - 100 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB

When: A few Tuesday mornings, Thursday evenings, and Saturday afternoons each month. The upcoming month's sessions will be posted at the end of the previous month

Why: This is a silly question. To sew and make friends, of course!

How: Pre-register for a spot right here!

FAQ:

Q. How much does it cost?
A. $10 if it's a basic day (with coffee and tea and snack - usually something homemade). Special events or projects will have a slightly higher cost.

Q. What if I need to cancel?
A. We will refund 50% of the registration fee for a basic day if cancelled 48 hours before the start.
Registration for other events (those that cost more than $10) are non-refundable.

Q. Tell me more about these snacks....
A. First of all, that's not really a question, but that's okay. lol
Sewing Studio Hours will always have coffee, tea, water, and a snack available (usually a homemade goodie). We are not able to cater to dietary concerns, but you are welcome to bring your own snacks if there is something you'd prefer!

Q. If the Sewing Studio Hours are during non-retail hours, can I still shop while I'm there?
A. Absolutely! You are more than welcome to browse around and will be able to wander back into the warehouse at your leisure. As the Studio Sewing Hours will often be hosted by one staff member, most orders placed that require fabric to be cut will be ready later that day or the next retail day.

Q. Can I bring my child with me?
A. We welcome all children 14 and up to register and sew along with us!
Due to safety concerns (hello fabric scissors), children under 14 will just have to count down the days until they too can join us!
We love babies - and if you have a non-mobile baby, send us a message (info@piecefabric.co) and we'll do our best to accommodate and provide space for a car seat or stroller.

Q. What do I need to bring?
A. Your sewing machine, the project you're working on, and any special tools you need.
We'll have irons, iron boards, cutting mats, rotary cutters, regular rulers and a few specialty rulers, all set up for you to use.
Fabric, thread, needles, and more are always available for purchase!
